#229 Sea Shell Blanks

Two things are needed in abundance to turn this pen blank: Patience and CA glue in a multitude of viscosities. Carbide tools and a good dust mask are also needed. This is a beautiful blank but it has gaps in the acrylic around the seashells that must be filled with CA glue both to keep the shells from breaking off and to fill the gaps. Special attention to any gaps in the blank near the ends. Filling with CA is an iterative process. Each time you cut the blank down, more pores appear that need to be filled. With perseverence this can produce a very distinctive result.
