Light House Pen Kits

I love this kit. It is fun and easy to make. I don't always process what I read really well and it took me a while to learn how to make the light come on (by twisting the ship decor just above the nib protector). I made some for a friend of mine to give her kids and they loved them. I will be buying them again.

The lighthouse pen is very unique and people seem to love it. The finishes it comes in are nice. It is reasonably easy to assemble. My only suggestion would be change the design of the pen as far as turning the light on and off. We've had some customers get confused about which part to twist.

Excellent product quality. I have several customers from the East Coast that really wanted one of these so I made a couple only to get several other requests for additional pens. The favourite ones were the Antique Bronze and the Gun Polish. Making the pens is an excellent opportunity to practise making some segmented blanks to capture the colours and patterns of Lighthouses that people may be familiar with.

Finally, an actual lighthouse pen after I've attempted different ways to make my own lighthouse pen. The kit is unique and appealing and easy to assemble. I only have a three comments that need consideration. First, the pen refill is a short size that I don't know where to find replacements. Second, out of the first three that I've made, two of them had the "glass" come off from it's base. I was able to re-glue it using Reptile glue which dries clear and will glue "anything". (It can be found anywhere from Amazon to Walmart. A Google search will provide many options.) Thirdly, I find the etching/casting at the nib end is a little rough to sensitive fingers. Otherwise, I am impressed and pleased with this kit.

Went together great and is a beautiful pen kit. Would be nice to get the special ink refills though the website. Would also be nice if the light was one solid color opposed to multiple flashing colors.
